Code of Conduct and Terms and Conditions

Code of Conduct
 

All registered players, parents, guardians and spectators are bound by this code of conduct. Regardless of being on or off the field, a person must refrain from:

  • Repeated violations of the rules.

  • Using swearing, foul, abusive, or derogatory language, including comments or actions.

  • Verbally abusing others with language, comments, or words that threaten or demean a player, referee, or spectator based on their religion, sexual orientation, disability, race, colour, national or ethnic origin.

  • Talking back to or arguing with a referee.

  • Showing dissent or disapproval towards a referee following a decision.

  • Players intentionally engaging in physical contact not permitted by the rules, or striking another player, referee, spectator, or The Proper Player representative.

  • Attacking the head of an opponent or tripping an opponent.

  • Entering the field under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

  • Players engaging in or team managers encouraging overly aggressive gameplay.
     

Any action deemed by the referee or competition manager, at their ultimate discretion, to discredit the game or any other action which is contrary to the spirit of the game.
 

Should a player (or team) breach the above Code of Conduct, The Proper Player staff may take any necessary action, including but not limited to :suspension of individuals and teams; individual or team bans; or escalating the matter to Police or appropriate law enforcement bodies.
 

 

Terms and Conditions
 

In consideration of The Proper Player allowing me, once I am a registered player, to participate in The Proper Player competition and events run by The Proper Player, I agree to release The Proper Player from all liability for any claim or demand or damage or personal injury or illness sustained by me
 

(a) arising from or in respect of my participation in any game or other activity (The Proper Player related or otherwise) arranged by or on behalf of The Proper Player, whether or not the injury is caused by The Proper Player or any other person; and
 

(b) whether or not the damage, personal injury or illness arises from the negligence or breach of any statutory duty of The Proper Player or any other individual.

 

I acknowledge that:
 

(a) in the conduct of the The Proper Player competition or other activity, some physical contact will occur between myself and other individuals involved in the competition;

and
 

(b) I consent to that contact being made; and (c) I will not hold The Proper Player or any other The Proper Player Representative responsible for any injury or illness I may suffer in respect of that contact."

 

I acknowledge that The Proper Player rent/hire their fields from other Organizations, from which time to time due to unforeseen circumstances may cancel games, whether this be on account of extreme weather conditions or otherwise. I accept that in such instances, and if a make up round can not be organized, this will result in a loss of a round and there will be no compensation awarded as a result of this.
 

I also accept that The Proper Player may need to change the specific field/location/venue of the Competition I have registered for if the fields are no longer suitable or become unavailable. In such instances, The Proper Player will use best endeavours to ensure the new venue location is within 15km of the original playing venue.

 

I acknowledge that in order to coordinate the The Proper Player competition effectively, my contact details will be used to communicate competition updates via email (including newsletter service) and phone.
 

I acknowledge that in the course of a season, photos and videos will be taken of games being played and teams. I consent to these photos being uploaded to social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and the The Proper Player website and for these photos to be used in marketing and advertising campaigns.

I also acknowledge that refunds are not permitted under any circumstances unless a division of the competition is cancelled.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, rounds may be cancelled and no points added or taken out.

 

Only team managers can raise any questions or feedback to the referee or competition organisers. If you have any complaints please go through team manager to email us directly.
